Born in the middle of the Pacific Ocean, I was always curious about people and what drives their behaviors. I fortunately had the opportunity to expand my horizons by attending the University of Southern California – immersing myself in not just my studies, but the diversity and backgrounds of the student body. Traveling the world and experiencing different cultures taught me that no matter where you reside, humans remain driven by primitive and instinctive behaviors. Yes, humans are intelligent, and we can reason, but our deepest desires and actions come from our need to survive and experience joy. That’s where my career in Marketing Strategy began.
Whether my job is to sell a widget or an experience, I revel in the challenge of understanding how to connect with the target audience in the most meaningful, timely, and actionable way. I began my career by developing a solid foundation in marketing and an appreciation for data intelligence within the financial service category. Applying the breadth of customer data and historical trends, I thrived on developing and predicting consumer relationships throughout their lifecycles. I also immersed myself in operations, product development, compliance, risk, and P&L management to better understand how successful businesses thrive.
As my responsibilities expanded into executive leadership positions, particularly during the unprecedented COVID-19 pandemic, organizational management, operational efficiencies, technological advancements, crisis and reputation management, and a renewed focus on employee and consumer sentiment became vital factors to consider when developing marketing strategies.
Cultural trends, AI and tech, consumer insights and intelligence, privacy, and security, omnichannel demands and experiences, legal and compliance, and maximum profitability with scrutinized budgets are now what I live and breathe every day. The world has become much more complex; however, the fundamental demands of a consumer remain consistent with slight adjustments of where they are within their lifecycle. As a strategic marketer, my passion is to leverage consumer data and technology gathered through the most productive tools available to pinpoint what each individual will gravitate to and how to connect with them in the most cost-efficient and effective way while remaining compliant -- creating moments that matter for the consumer and the enterprise.
